No, I can't do that. There is a liability issue. You just have to know how hard to depress the activation button. You would want to start out on the slow cycle, while slowly increasing speed.

I'm evaluating Kaspersky for my office at this time and have also installed AVG Free for our remote users. Stay away from McAfee and Symantec products as they eat your computer resources (i.e., memory, processor, etc.).

One thing I learned last year on JSOnline...if a unknown ID offers a link to a article bashing Favre, don't go there. Someone has gotten the idea of planting Spyware on these sites knowing half the blog will take a look. Which is a good trick if you’re malicious as hell. I expect the same this year.

I have spyware doctor and it had worked well for me up until Sunday night. I had it set to automatically download new definitions but I suspect that was not happening. I will look into kaspersky .... like INT said I'm not a big fan of macafee either.

I have McAfee Security and am very pleased with the service. My system is virus free and I've never experienced any significant problems. I only enter approved sites.

Who aproves the sites?

I've never had a virus of any type ... computer virus, that is.

Spyware doctor huh? I will have to see if it works with the Kaspersky suite. Malware is crucial...unless you want to spend a lot of time elimintating spyware.

No-one approves the sites. Posters just put up links, maybe they know the spyware is on it, maybe they don't. I avoid screen names I don't know.

Every Sunday on game day someone will put up a link to a free internet site showing the game. That site had spyware all over it. I avoid that one now.

Joe, I beg to differ with you concerning McAfee's performance. I've had McAfee for two years and never experienced any problems with viruses. McAfee directs me to safe sites and warns me about risky ones. I would recommend this service to anyone without any hesitation and think you unfairly criticized them.

The multi ID logger may be a team. 2 people. One either used to work for JSO or still does, because in the past whenever he smeared someone on JSO it was always a friday or saturday night and he appeared to be able to control the security functions or he was the moderator, (Heller?) because all of his garbage was never deleted until monday when the "normal" moderator would come back in. The other "team" member followed up with further insults and sometimes tried to make the first "team" member seem justified in his smear campaign or he would set up the victim the day before. Who ever "it" is, is completely deranged and in need of psychological evaluation and confinement. JSO in allowing the ID blogger's posts to stay up has violated state privacy laws, especially when the blogger posts specific information. it would be easy to carry out a lawsuit against JSO for these privacy breeches. only then could a person gain access to JSO's archives, even those posts that have been deleted are saved indefinitely and with help from state or government officials be able to track down the ID bandit's actual address and information. JPkool, is a "faint" some name that was made up by the ID bandit to deflect others to that name and have a "person" to blame everything on. I have received disparaging emails from the real ID bandit and "it" always says he's doing all the slanderous remarks to drive up viewership and make more money for JSO in advertising revenue.

I believe the whole drive up viewership excuse is a faint as well. That blog gets numerous page refreshes and new posts without the crap he does, just the normal banter alone is a hit maker. The weekend thing is interesting, I had chalked that up to being NO moderator assigned due to budget cuts from friday evening to monday morning. If there was an actual mod on duty who let the profanity and such pass I think it would have only happened once before that person was pink slipped and we have all seen it go on and on.

The other thing I have a hard time rectifying as it being a JSO employee or subcontractor is the vicious stuff posted about JSO writers. That to me goes beyond anything bedard or Nickels boss would tolerate just to drive up page views. A one time JSO employee who now has an axe to gring and is coming from the outside though I think is definitely possible, alot of anger there, Posts denigrating Greg and Lori are the easiest to get instantly removed so I don't think it's tolerated.
